Frequently Asked Questions

To get more information please contact me and I'll provide my "What to expect from your newborn photo session" pdf guide that explains how the session works and includes all the information

When can I book a session?

As early as possible, after your 20 week scan is recommended. I offer limited amount of session per month and offer sessions on Saturdays and Sundays only so places fill up quickly.

Will my baby be safe and comfortable during the session?

Your baby's safety and comfort are my absolute priorities. I'm fully insured , I've completed newborn posing and safety trainings and British Red Cross first aid course for newborns . I've been photographing newborn babies since 2017. All my sessions are completely baby led and your little one will never be forced to go into any pose or position they're not comfortable in for the sake of taking a photo.

What is the best time for newborn session?

The best time is when babies are between 5 and 14 days old as they sleep a lot and go into them curly poses naturally.

Where does the session take place?

For added comfort all my sessions take place at the comfort of my clients' homes where both baby and mum feel the most comfortable.

What area do you cover?

I normally cover Greater Manchester area and 35 miles radius from my post code. Please get in touch for more information.

What do I need to prepare before the session?

Your session will take place at the comfort of your home. I'd need as much space as possible, at least 5x5 feet in font of a nice big window as I always try to use natural light first . A bright room with no direct sunlight , big windows, conservatories, patio doors would be great.

If you have any bulky items , TV, sofas etc. in front of your window please have them moved prior to the session.

When will the session take place?

We'll schedule a session based on your due date, normally within first 2 weeks. If your little one decided to arrive much earlier or later than planned we'll reschedule to the earliest date available. I always try to photograph babies within the first couple of weeks of their life however please bear in mind that since I only offer sessions at the weekends it's not always possible.

How long does the session take?

Mini session normally takes 1 hour and full session ( Gold or Platinum package ) takes up to 2 hours. All my sessions are completely baby led so if your little one needs more time to relax it might take slightly longer. Babies are normally more relaxed in the mornings so we'll start at 10AM as we need a relaxed and happy baby.

Do you offer sessions during the week?

No, at the moment I only offer sessions on Saturdays and Sundays.

Can you guarantee my session will take place within the first week after my child is born?

No, I can't . Since I don't photograph babies younger than 4 days old and offer photoshoots on Saturdays and Sundays only that can't be guaranteed.

Are all props provided?

Yes, I will bring all I need with me so you don't have to worry about anything. All props, wraps, outfits, bonnets, headbands, etc. are provided. If there is anything you'd like me to use during the session, for example your grandma's scarf or your favourite teddy  from your childhood please let me know before the session so I can prepare and think how to incorporate it .

What is the difference between Classic and Snug as a Bug session?

Classic session is offered for babies up to 15 days old. Your baby would be photographed on a posing beanbag , during my Classic session I aim for four different poses - back, side, bum up and chin on hands.

Snug as a Bug is a wrapped session perfect for babies up to 5 weeks old , also great for premature and unsettled babies. Your baby would be wrapped all the time, photographed in props, such as bowls in baskets.

Can I mix Classic and Snug as a Bug session?

Unfortunately, I can't offer that. In home sessions are very convenient for my clients however preparing set ups and changing between beanbag and props is too time consuming since the  space is usually very limited. The longer the session takes the more tired and unsettled babies become and since your baby's comfort and safety are paramount to me I can only offer either Classic or Snug as a Bug session, depending on your taste and your baby's age.

Can you photograph my newborn with a sibling?

Yes, I can photograph your newborn baby with a sibling on request during my full session ( Gold or Platinum package ). For more details please request my "What to expect from your newborn session" guide.

Do you offer family photos?

I do understand how important family photos are however due to the fact the I offer in client's home sessions only where space is often limited and due to the amount and layout of equipment needed I am unable to offer family photos.

How do I book a session?

I require £100 non refundable session fee payable via bank transfer at the time of booking that will secure your spot. It will be deducted from the price of your chosen package after the session once you're ready to place your order. Session is booked once the payment has cleared.
